Join NCHS for the our FREE summer kick-off event. The fun begins when we dump 350 TONS of sand into downtown Omaha during the first weekend of June. Corporate and community group teams then use the sand in a competition to create the best 15-ton sand sculpture. After all the amazing sculptures are created, the public is invited down to enjoy them, vote for their favorite, and enjoy a festival-like atmosphere that includes an interactive Kid Zone complete with giant sandboxes, live entertainment on the main stage, delicious treats from local vendors and much more.

Come on down and cheer on your favorite Sand in the City® team as they transform sand into an amazing sand sculpture in hopes of placing in the sand sculpting competition or taking home the coveted “People’s Choice Award”! Each of the corporate or community group teams work with professional sand sculptors from across the country and local architects/engineers to build these incredible sand sculptures.
